Long An: 174 works participate in press award 2021

The Jury of the Long An Provincial Press Prize 2021 gives marks for the works in the contest

In which, the highest number of works were print newspaper with 71 works. These are quality press products of journalists, reporters and collaborators in the province that have been published and broadcast on the media.

According to the Head of the Jury, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association, Director of Long An Radio and Television Station - Le Hong Phuoc, this year's journalism awards have increased in quantity and quality compared to before. The print press stands out in terms of the number of works, topics, expressions, etc. The diverse and vivid themes are of interest to the public, such as joining hands in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic; preventing smuggled goods crossing the border; the success of the Party Congress at all levels for the term 2020-2025; praising advanced examples, spreading the good things in life; etc. Some of the winning works this time have high social effects such as information orientation on social networks - an inevitable direction; the secretaries "believed by People - nominated by the Party"; building walls from the border of the nation; agricultural products still smuggled across the border, etc.

This year, the online newspaper has more works than the previous year. The entries for the awards follow the mainstream of news and important events in 2020 and 2021 such as Party congresses at all levels; election of deputies to the XVth National Assembly and all-level People's Councils for the term 2021-2026; the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic, etc. More and more forms are used, such as longform, megastory, e-magazine, etc. The overall quality of the works is more equal. 

However, there are few radio works; Radio works and press photos are not diverse in topics, press photos are not outstanding in quality, etc.

The jury selects 35 best works to award prizes.

Reportedly, the Long An Press Prize is held annually on the occasion of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day on June 21. The award was organized by the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, deployed by the Provincial People's Committee, and assigned to the Provincial Journalists Association to chair and coordinate with the Provincial propaganda and training commission and the Provincial Organization Commission to launch the contest.

This is a playground for journalists in the province, it contributes to encouraging and cheering up the creative emulation movement of journalists, serving propaganda on the mass media in the province. Thereby, the contest also discovers and fosters journalistic talents in the province.

The Long An Provincial Press Award selects and rewards writers with outstanding journalistic works on ideology, politics, culture, society, security and defense, with high social effects, actively contributing to the cause of national construction and defense./.
