Currently, Long An receives 1 person (a Vietnamese to Guangdong, China) from Ho Chi Minh City International Health Quarantine Center at Tan Son Nhat Airport on February 9, bringing isolation in Hau Nghia Regional General Hospital within 14 days as prescribed.

Long An Department of Health arranges people to be isolated in the quarantine area of Hau Nghia Regional General Hospital. However, this is an area that is ready to receive treatment for patients with acute respiratory infections caused by a new strain of coronavirus (during the time someone is isolated, receiving patients will affect the isolation for treatment).

Facing this situation, the Department of Health discussed with the Commander of the Provincial Military Command and agreed to submit to the Provincial People's Committee to select the local Military School as a concentrated isolation facility and as a field hospital (if any), In terms of facilities, there are separate fences from people’s houses, rooms, kitchens, toilets, etc., which can have space for about 300 people.

The provincial People's Committee also agreed to choose the local Military School of the province as a concentrated isolation facility and a field hospital (if any) to meet the disease prevention and control situations as suggested by the Department of Health.

At the same time, the Department of Health was assigned to coordinate with the Provincial Military Command, the Provincial Police and the relevant units to fully prepare conditions on facilities, equipment, means, security and order, services. It ensures good implementation of isolation and treatment (if any) in accordance with regulations and guidance of the Ministry of Health and relevant ministries and branches.

The treatment area was set up urgently and temporarily to collect, screen, isolate and treat cases of Covid-19 disease which spread widely in the community when hospitals of all levels in the area were overloaded, without the ability to collect and treat more patients.
