Long An: Over VND 48,570 billion mobilized to build new-style rural

Up to now, the whole province has 77 recognized communes which meet new-style rural standards, accounting for more than 46.39 percent of the total number of communes in the province. The number of criteria achieved an average of 15.2 criteria per commune, the commune reaching below 7 criteria does not exist.

By the end of 2019, Long An province has 8 more communes recognized as new-style rural ones, then the total number of new-style rural communes is up to 85 ones, exceeding the target set by the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress X with 83 communes.

According to the Director of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development - Nguyen Thanh Truyen, the whole province mobilized over VND 48,572 billion to implement the new-style rural construction program, in which the state-owned capital is more than VND 3,670 billion, credit capital is VND 44,335 billion, enterprises contribute VND 216 billion and communities contributes VND 351 billion in the period 2016 – 2019.

Through the programs, rural socio-economic infrastructure is invested and developed synchronously; The organization of production cooperation and cooperation development has been strengthened that help production growth achieve more and more quality and efficiency in depth.

People’s material and spiritual life is improved. The annual poverty rate is reduced (by the end of 2018, it is only 2.22 percent), the percentage of near-poor households decreases to 3.41 percent, the average income per capita in rural areas is estimated at 39 million VND per year.

At the same time, the grassroots political system is strengthened and grassroots democracy is strengthened, the role of the people is promoted, and so on.
