The epidemic of acute pneumonia caused by a new strain of nCoV is complicated in China. To date, the disease has spread to 31out of 31 provinces and cities of China and spread to 18 countries and territories.
This is a new and dangerous epidemic, capable of spreading rapidly. There is currently no vaccine and specific treatment for the disease. In Vietnam, there are 2 cases of Chinese people initially identifying nCoV infection. In particular, these two people had moved through the localities of Long An province.
Long An is one of the provinces most at risk of spreading the disease due to tourists, laborers, studying and returning from epidemic areas in China during and after the Lunar New Year Festival of the Rat 2020.
In order to proactively prevent and control diseases, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 292/QĐ-UBND, dated January 28, 2020, establishing the Steering Committee and the Mission Team for preventing and controlling dangerous epidemics on people in the province.
The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee requests Party Committees, authorities, Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations to focus on leading and directing to organize synchronous and drastic tasks and solutions to prevent and control epidemics, absolutely not be passive and unexpected in any situation.
Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee chaired and coordinated with the Department of Information and Communications to direct the strengthening of information and propaganda in a timely and adequate manner on the epidemic situation; measures for people to actively prevent and fight epidemics, not bewildered and worried.
All levels and branches build plans to fully prepare material facilities for prevention, isolation and treatment; prepare adequate equipment, medicines and protective equipment for the people; ensure sufficient funding and human resources for epidemic prevention and control.
It is necessary to immediately seek medical advice, examination and treatment if one has the symptoms of fever, cough and dyspnea
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee - Tran Van Can affirmed: “The task of prevention and control of nCoV epidemic must be a key and urgent task of the entire political system, society, every citizen; taking precaution is main, absolutely not be subjective or neglect. The highest objective of the province is to protect the health, life and safety of the people first".
He suggested that relevant levels, branches and localities urgently implement synchronous measures to effectively prevent epidemics according to the guideline of local command, local forces and local facilities; strictly implement of reporting and advising in time all developments of the epidemic situation. The head of the local party committee is responsible to the provincial Standing Committee if the complicated epidemic spread in the locality.
Department of Health coordinates relevant sectors to closely monitor passengers coming from other provinces and cities; organize training for cadres and medical workers to response epidemic situations, not to be passive if epidemics occur./.
