Provincial People's Committee's October regular meeting

In October, the economic situation continued to be focused and directed, achieving positive results in most fields. The main crops grow stably, the planted area increases; aquaculture continues to bring efficiency, output increased by 20.3% over the same period; african swine fever occurred in 2 households in Can Duoc and Ben Luc districts but were timely handled.

Industrial production activities continued to grow, the industrial production index in the month increased by 12.42% over the same period. Public investment disbursement is focused on, the disbursement rate has achieved good results (reaching 74.65% of the plan).

During the month, 210 new businesses were established (increase 40% over the same period) with a total capital of 1,619 billion VND (decrease 11%); In the first 10 months of 2023, 1,582 new businesses were established (increase 11%), with a total capital of 15,478 billion VND (decrease 4%). To date, in the province there are 16,702 businesses registered with a total capital of 367,968 billion VND.

Commercial and service activities continue to develop vibrantly; Total retail sales of goods and services increased sharply by 14.26%. Export turnover has improved in the last months of the year, increasing by 37.82%.

Besides the achieved results, the province's socio-economic situation in October is still limited, such as import turnover falling sharply compared to the previous month and the same period. The work of compensation, support, resettlement and site clearance still has many problems, the results have not met the set requirements (313.3 hectares/927.5 hectares have been paid, reaching 33.77%). Budget collection is lower than the same period. Diseases such as hand-foot-mouth, pink eye and HIV increased sharply over the same period. The situation of security, order, and social safety is still complicated  in some places.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut requested the provincial departments and branches to review the progress of implementing targets and tasks, in particular, paying attention to two indicators of GRDP growth and budget revenue.

Besides, relevant sectors need to pay attention to building brands for agricultural products; develop industrial zones and clusters; develop clean land funds; attract foreign investment; improve administrative reform indicators, PCI, PAPI, etc; complete the provincial Masterplan implementation plan; Prepare plans to welcome the year of Monkey 2024; celebrate the victory of the Hiep Hoa battle and receive the Ho Chi Minh Medal; etc.

For localities, the Chairman of Provincial People's Committee requested to speed up the progress of budget collection and disbursement of public investment capital; develop a plan to reduce expenses; focus on site clearance and resettlement; strive to complete the targets and tasks set at the beginning of the yea at the highest level; etc./.
