Dong Thap Muoi Medicinal Plant Research and Development Joint Stock Company has the task of permanently conserving the Melaleuca forest, researching and developing gene sources of medicinal plants, orienting research to develop and preserve conservation and sustainable exploitation of over 1,000 hectares of Melaleuca forest. With a history spanning 40 years of establishment and development, the Board of Directors, all officers and employees of the company are always enthusiastic and determined to implement and innovate to build a medicinal plant reserve, being a source of raw materials for the pharmaceutical industry in Vietnam.

In 2011, under the direction of Minister of Health - Tran Thi Trung Chien and Deputy Minister of Health - Cao Minh Quang, the company carried out the strategic task of building Moc Hoa Tram medicinal plant that meets GMP - WHO standard to maximize the use of raw materials raised, grown and collected in th forest, from indigenous medicinal plants of Dong Thap Muoi region; receiving students of high schools, colleges, universities and graduates in researching medicinal plants; carrying out research and development tasks of medicinal plants in the Dong Thap Muoi region, and in-depth evaluating and analyzing Dong Thap Muoi medicinal plants; carrying out scientific research on medicinal plants in the Dong Thap Muoi region, implementing projects and in-depth analysis on Dong Thap Muoi medicinal plants; developing healthcare tourism;etc.

At the same time, he directed provincial departments and branches to actively coordinate with Moc Hoa district and all ministries, branches to consider transferring taxes to the company; consider granting 140 hectares belonging to the Scientific Research Zone and 821 hectares to the Special-use Forest according to the company's recommendations in accordance with the order and procedures prescribed by law.
