A narrow section of PR826C
According to the Department of Transport, the PR826C route has a length of more than 18 kilometers, a asphalt-construction road surface of 3.5 meters wide, a road of 5.5 meters wide. This is one of the arterial traffic routes of the communes in the lower Can Giuoc district. it has been put into operation and use for many years, it can no longer meet the requirements of development, travel and transportation of goods.
Recently, on this route, the number of vehicles is too crowded at rush hours in the morning and evening. Due to the narrow road surface, there are frequent traffic jams, it is difficult for vehicles to move.
On the other hand, the lower-land communes of Can Giuoc district are currently one of the destinations in attracting investment, developing industry, trade and services, leading to many immigrants from other localities to live and earn a living. This also increases traffic pressure on the route.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, living in Phuoc Lai commune, the road surface is flooded when it rains, causing potholes and affecting people's travel. Moreover, this is also a route connecting with Ho Chi Minh City and Long Hau Industrial Park, so a lot of heavy truck on it.
"The degraded and damaged road surface not only affects the circulation and transportation of goods, it also has the potential for traffic accidents" - Mr. Nguyen Van Lam, living near the route in Phuoc Lai commune, worried.
Facing the above situation, in the meetings with voters, people often report the state that PR826C was degraded damaged and narrow, thereby they proposed to invest in upgrading and expanding it soon. On the other hand, in recent meetings of the Provincial People's Council, delegates also repeatedly proposed to upgrade and expand the PR826C route to meet the needs of travel, freight and industrial development.
Information from the Department of Transport, due to limited capital and still entangled construction site, it has not been possible to invest in recent times. Therefore, the Department of Transport can only patch and repair the road surface to ensure traffic. However, with the pressure of traffic and freight, after only a short time, the road surface was damaged. In early 2021, the Department chaired and worked with the Economic and Budget Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Deputies Group of the People's Council of Can Giuoc District, the People's Committee of Can Giuoc District, and the People's Committee of Phuoc Lai Commune, to agree on the investment scale for expanding PR826C. Accordingly, in the immediate future, it is proposed to invest in expanding a length of 3,066 kilometers on the PR826C route. That is the section from Km3+554 (abutment B of Rach Dua bridge) to Km6+620 (intersection with Ba Kieu street).
Deputy Director of the Traffic Works Project Management Unit, Department of Transport - Nguyen Minh Hau said: "The project has been approved and the provincial People's Committee approved the investment. The project design has a roadbed size of 8 meters wide (in the the road surface is 7 meters), the vertical drainage system, the project has a total investment of more than 37.6 billion VND, funded by the provincial budget.
Currently, the project is implementing the design of construction drawings, expected to be constructed in September 2021. The remaining sections will recommend expansion investment when the capital source is identified./.
