At present, African swine fever (ASF) occurs in 12 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta, only Ben Tre province has not occurred yet. Epidemics are complicated, spread quickly and widely, there is no sign of stopping. The country now has more than 2.4 million pigs to be forced to destroy, causing great losses to farmers and the state budget is spending a lot for prevention and control.

Only in Long An, there are 3 outbreaks in Hau Hoa hamlet, Duc Hoa Thuong commune and ward 1and 2 of Kien Tuong town. Facing this situation, in order to limit the spread of epidemics on a large scale, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Pham Van Canh instructed: "The localities in the province implemented strict monitoring of livestock situation and epidemics in the provinces at the communes, timely detect and effectively prevent, do not let the epidemic to spread wide, absolutely not subjective, neglect in anti-epidemic.

At the same time, each level from the province to the district and the commune (where there is no epidemic) needs to immediately develop the epidemic response scenario at each level, getting ready the contingency plans in case of an outbreak: The location of pig destruction, especially in localities, should have solutions for households without land or situations where pigs must be destroyed in farms or pigs of many infected households at the same time; organize the implementation of anti-epidemic and not passive actions, with the motto "anti-epidemic like anti-invasion" in the spirit of the Prime Minister's direction and "4 in place": on-site direction; local manpower; on-site supplies and on-site vehicles. In addition, the provincial agricultural sector directs strict control of pig sources entering the province at the checkpoints of animal diseases at the exit and entry gates, especially noting that the piggy trucks are covered with tar to avoid control of veterinary forces.

Simultaneously, it is recommended that pig-feeding households should implement measures "5 No" (no hide epidemics; no sale, transportation of sick or dead pigs; no slaughter and consumption of pork disease, dead pigs; do not throw dead pigs into the environment; do not use leftover feed pigs without heat treatment); ASF does not spread to humans, consumers should not fear, boycott and turn away from pork products that are safe, disease-free and hygienically processed. To ensure food safety, people should buy products made from pork of clear origin, especially to cook meat before use./.
