February CPI increases 0.76% in Long An

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Long An province for February, 2018 increased 0.76 percent compared to previous month.

The CPI increase was due to the hike in consumption demand during Tet Lunar New Year.

Concretely, goods increased 1.07 percent; services went up 0.3 per cent. Compared to previous month, 8 out of 11 key groups of goods & services rose.

In particular, food catering services went up 1.69 percent; transportation up 0.8 percent; cultural entertainment and tourism increased 0.72 percent; garment & textile up 0.53 percent; beverage & cigarette rose 0.52 percent; other services went up 0.37 percent; education up 0.08 percent.

The group of medicine and health care services remained unchanged while the group of electricity and housing, construction material decreased 0.15 percent and telecommunication costs went down 0.09 percent. The CPI increase was due to the hike in consumption demand during Tet Lunar New Year.

The gas, oil prices were adjusted on February 21 but still being effected by the price hike on April 1 and 19 therefore its average prices in February increased 1.28 percent.

Besides, public transport services also went up 0.8 percent./.
