Long An launches action month for food safety 2019

On April 18, Long An interdisciplinary Steering Committee on food hygiene and safety launched the Action Month for food safety 2019 in Can Duoc District.

The launching ceremony aims to propagate food safety for officials, food manufacturers, processing enterprises and traders. The action month officially runs from April 15 to May 15 throughout the province.

With the theme “Say no to low-quality and counterfeit food to protect consumers”, the activities of the action month are to raise the awareness of complying with regulations on food safety of food manufacturers, processing enterprises and traders; implement communication campaigns; encourage the use and trading of clear origin foods; avoid the low-quality and counterfeit food as well as strictly handle violations of food safety.

Director of the Provincial Department of Health - Dr. Huynh Minh Phuc asked sectors and localities to regularly focus on ensuring food safety and actively propagating and checking food hygiene and safety at large-scale collective kitchens.

Besides, food manufacturers, processing enterprises and traders have to strictly execute the Food safety Law and legal documents on food safety. Consumers need to resolutely say “No” to food without clear origin and regularly update information on food safety to protect health.

After the launching ceremony, a parade on the main roads of Can Duoc district was also organized to convey the message of food safety to the people./.
