At present, the district sets up a  temporary animal quarantine checkpoints in Viet Hoa residential area (in Hamlet 5, Phuoc Dong Commune) to control pig and pork transport vehicles from Tien Giang province.

Tan Hung and Tan Thanh districts are contiguous with Dong Thap province’s communes where epidemics occurs. Therefore, the localities in the two districts urgently prevents epidemics. Functional forces are on duty on 24 hours per day at the quarantine checkpoints on major routes as well as control the transport of animals at locations and routes without the checkpoints.

The local leader also assigns the head of the hamlet, the veterinarians to supervise and immediately report to the authority if any case of suspected swine fever is detected.

In addition, the functional agencies also focus on propaganda to raise people's awareness. According to the head of Tan Chanh A hamlet (in Nhon Ninh commune, Tan Thanh district) - Ngo Van Lanh, the hamlet has one farm and 40 breeding households. Because most of them are small-scale animal husbandry farrmers, the propaganda is very important. At the same time, the local authorities also advises people not to hide the epidemic and to immediately report to authorities when the epidemic occurs./.
