The friendship between the youth of Vietnam and Cambodia

Long An shares a border with Svay Rieng and Prey Veng provinces (Cambodia). Over the past time, the two countries Vietnam - Cambodia have always attached, showing solidarity and friendship. This friendship and cooperation relationship between the two countries is constantly being nurtured and developed through cultural exchanges, volunteering activities, etc.

In order to strengthen the solidarity and friendship between the two countries, the Provincial Youth Union regularly organizes volunteer trips, visits, gives gifts, provides free medical examination and medicine, etc to poor Cambodian people.

In 2022, the Provincial Committee of Vietnam Youth Federation in collaboration with the Cambodian Youth Federation of Svay Rieng province organize volunteer activities and international exchanges in Svay Chrum district, Svay Rieng province. The delegation donated 1 ton of rice; 1 friendship house for the Cambodian Youth Federation of Svay Rieng province; 300 medical examinations and 300 gifts for people in difficult circumstances; 5,000 breeding frogs; 1,500 notebooks and 10 bicycles for disadvantaged students at Kandal Phum Primary School.

In addition, the Provincial Youth Union also directed the branches of Youth Union to organize propaganda and disseminate the policy and contents of the agreement between Long An and the two provinces of Svay Rieng and Prey Veng to all levels of union members, young people in the province, especially the localities bordering Cambodia such as Duc Hue, Tan Hung, Vinh Hung, Moc Hoa, Thanh Hoa and Kien Tuong town.

Deputy Secretary of Provincial Youth Union - Le Thi Hong Ket said that every year, the Provincial Vietnam Youth Federation plans and mobilizes funds to organize a volunteer trip in two neighboring provinces, Svay Rieng and Prey Veng. The remote areas of those two provinces still have many people in difficult circumtances, so volunteering programs are extremely meaningful and partly shared the dificulties with them. These activitíes contribute to consolidating and developing friendly relations, building a peaceful and stable border between Long An and the two provinces of Svay Rieng and Prey Veng in particular, and the two countries Vietnam and Cambodia in general.

Many activities to exchange and experience

Over the past time, the province has paid attention to cultural exchange, focusing on people-to-people diplomacy activities, consolidating and tightening friendship with people of countries around the world, especially friendly foreign localities.

Long An and Chungcheongnam established a cooperation agreement in May 2005. Since then, the two provinces have maintained effective cooperation in many fields, especially cultural exchange and education. At the beginning of August 2023, as planned, 24 people from the Youth Union of Chungcheongnam Province and nearly 170 students of Bo De Phuong Duy Middle & High School, Thu Thua High School exchanged, acquainted, visited Vinh Phong Communal House historical site (Thu Thua district); Long An Monument Park "Resilient, bravery, the whole people fighting the enemy" and participated in culinary exchanges, making Vietnamese and Korean dishes, decorating the reading room, implementing friendship stone chairs, painting children's playground, planting trees,etc.

Deputy Secretary of Provincial Youth Union - Pham Van Hau said that these activities are to strengthen the friendly cooperation relationship between the Youth of Long An Province, Vietnam and Chungcheongnam Province, South Korea through volunteering activities; create cultural exchanges among the youth of the two countries, contributing to promoting the cooperation relationship between Long An province and Chungcheongnam province in particular and the two countries Vietnam - Korea in general.

In 2 days, July 28 and 29, 2023 at Waterpoint - Nam Long Urban Area, Ben Luc District, the Provincial Youth Union will organize cultural, culinary, and outdoor activities at the Exhibition to celebrate the 50th anniversary establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (September 21, 1973 - September 21, 2023).

The activities includes propagating and introducing the relationship and cooperation achievements between Long An province and Japanese partners, cultural exchange, cuisine, and outdoor exchange between the two countries Vietnam - Japan. The Youths will organize exhibitions, decorate conical hats and traditional costumes (ao dai, ao ba ba); handicraft items (grass bags); exhibit and display OCOP products or typical products of Ben Luc district and Long An province (rice paper, dragon fruit, lemon, com ngo,etc) and introduce folk games. In particular, at the exhibition, there will be food exchange booth. Accordingly, the youth will participate in a competition to prepare Vietnamese and Japanese traditional cakes.

Secretary of Provincial Youth Union - Tran Hai Phu said that the activity is a healthy and useful playground for the youths, pupils and students; an opportunity for the youths, pupils and students to show their talents, exchange and learn about international integratio, thereby, encouraging the youth to actively practice self-discipline, constantly strive to improve their education and foreign languages, bring the image of Japanese people to the people of Long An as well as as promoting the investment, trade, tourism, and cultural characteristics of the province to the country, people and businesses of Japan./.
