According to Director of Truong Phat Company - Nguyen Thi Dinh Khuc, the company boldly invested in new equipment such as cutting, lock milling, corner pressing, end milling machines, etc with a cost of nearly 350 million VND, contributing to improving production and business efficiency, creating more beautiful product designs, reducing raw material consumption.

In particular, in July 2024, the company coordinated with the Provincial Center for Industrial and Trade Promotion in the project to support machinery and equipment in the production and processing of furnitures. The project was implemented with local industrial promotion funds, and the company received non-refundable support of nearly 150 million VND.

Facing the challenges and competition from businesses in the same industry, support from industrial promotion funds helps the Company to meet many orders at the same time, creating stable revenue, and income for many local workers is getting better and better.

In 2023, due to the impact of the global economic recession, many textile and garment enterprises encountered difficulties and shortages of orders. Since the beginning of 2024, textile and garment enterprises have had abundant orders, and workers can maintain their jobs until the end of the year.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, in the first 7 months of 2024, the industrial production index (IIP) increased by 5.68% over the same period, with 47/70 industrial product groups having increased output over the same period.

In early July 2024, Commercial Counselor, Head of Trade Office, Embassy of Vietnam in Singapore - Cao Xuan Thang led a delegation of Singaporean enterprises to survey agricultural farms in Long An.

On this trip, the delegation learned about food safety management policies, disease control (HPAI Prevention Plan, Salmonella Enteritidis monitoring) and agricultural export certification processes; visited manufacturers and enterprises with the capacity to produce and export poultry, eggs and rice in Long An.

The 3 enterprises that the Singaporean delegation visited and worked with were Duong Vu Company Limited (Thu Thua district, specializing in rice export), Hai Au Farm (Ben Luc district, growing and exporting seedless lemon products), and Ba Huan High-tech Poultry Farm (Ben Luc district). The Singaporean business delegation was impressed with the farms they visited and said that the management model, production scale, and disease control of these enterprises were quite good.

In the coming time, the relevant parties will continue to work together to agree on measures to be able to export many products to Singapore, including fresh products such as chicken meat and fresh chicken eggs.

According to the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Ba Huan Joint Stock Company - Pham Thi Huan, the Singaporean business delegation's visit to the company is an opportunity for enterprises to approach and learn about the requirements of the Singaporean market, thereby improving product quality, livestock farming processes, raising quality standards, increasing internal resources to supply the domestic market.

Currently, Ba Huan Joint Stock Company exports salted eggs to many countries. Fresh eggs in particular have many barriers in export because they are related to the disease safety of the countries. According to the Department of Industry and Trade, the production, consumption and export of enterprises in the province have improved. Import and export turnover reached 7.1 billion USD, of which exports reached 4.3 billion USD, up 14.3% over the same period, imports reached 2.7 billion USD, up 15.8%. According to a survey from enterprises, 36.7% of enterprises rated it better; 48.1% rated it stable and 15.09% rated it more difficult.

Director of the Department of Industry and Trade - Huynh Van Quang Hung said that according to the World Bank's forecast, global trade growth in 2024 will only reach 2.4%, lower than the 2.6% in 2023 (only half the average in the decade 2010-2020 before the Covid-19 pandemic). Therefore, to support businesses to boost exports, the department continues to carry out a number of tasks and solutions such as coordinating with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to organize the Long An Import and Export Supply Chain Connection Conference in 2024; implement trade promotion and e-commerce programs as planned; promote the role of connecting enterprises, focusing on large-scale conferences and fairs with foreign elements, supporting enterprises to participate in international e-commerce platforms such as Alibaba, Amazon, etc.

In addition, the Department of Industry and Trade coordinates with agencies of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, departments and branches of the province to welcome foreign enterprises to Long An to explore investment and trade opportunities; guide enterprises to participate in the national brand program; support and organize activities to connect import and export enterprises through Long An International Port; coordinate to develop a project to build Long An product brands, logistics services. The department also coordinates with agencies of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the northern border provinces to promptly inform enterprises about the market situation, regulations on import and export at border gates to be proactive in the import and export process./.
