On February 4, Member of Long An Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Minh Lam led the working delegation to visit the rice fields in Kien Tuong town and Thanh Hoa district.
Accompanying the delegation were Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Mai Van Nhieu; Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development - Nguyen Thanh Truyen.

Accordingly, the working delegation surveyed the production situation of Winter-Spring 2024-2025 crop in Binh Hiep commune; visited the durian growing model and pumpkin growing model in Thanh Hung commune, Kien Tuong town.
Up to now, the whole Kien Tuong town has sown more than 17,000 hectares of rice. Of which, more than 6,600 hectares have been harvested, the dry yield reached 63 quintals/hectare, the output reached over 41,800 tons.

The delegation visits the high-quality, low-emission rice cultivation model at Tan Tay Hamlet 1 Cooperative, Tan Tay Commune, Thanh Hoa District
After that, the delegation visited the rice cultivation model under the Project "Sustainable development of one million hectares of high-quality, low-emission rice cultivation associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta by 2030" at Tan Tay Hamlet 1 Cooperative, Tan Tay Commune, Thanh Hoa District.
In the 2024-2025 Winter-Spring crop, Tan Tay Hamlet 1 Cooperative was selected to implement a pilot model under the Project with a scale of 15 hectares. Accordingly, the cooperative applied the method of border sowing in combination with fertilizing and alternating flooding and drying. Up to now, the rice is about 70 days old and is growing well.
Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Minh Lam highly appreciated the model and hoped that localities, cooperatives and farmers would continue to replicate the model in the coming time. Thereby contributing to helping the province achieve the target of rice production area assigned by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
