Xth Long An People's Council holds its first meeting

At the First Session, the Xth Provincial People's Council reported on the opinions and recommendations of voters at meetings with candidates for the Provincial People's Council; report summarizing the election of deputies to the XVth National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the term 2021 - 2026; announced the Resolution on certifying the status of delegates of the Provincial People's Council and awarded the Certificates to 60 delegates of the Xth Provincial People's Council; and it also approved the Resolution on the program of activities for the entire term of the Provincial People's Council, session X, term 2021 - 2026; Resolution on the plan to organize regular meetings of the Provincial People's Council in 2021.

Delegates vote to elect the leadership positions of the Xth Provincial People's Council 

Along with that, the Provincial People's Council elected key positions of the Provincial People's Council. As a result, with 100 percent of the votes in favor, the delegates of the Long An Provincial People's Council elected Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc - member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee to continue to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, session X, term 2021 - 2026. Mr. Mai Van Nhieu - Vice Chairman of the IXth Provincial People's Council was re-elected Vice Chairman of the Xth Provincial People's Council, one missing position of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council will be additionally elected later.

The Long An People's Council also elected key leadership positions of the X-term Provincial People's Committee. With 100 percent of the delegates approving, Mr. Nguyen Van Ut - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee continued to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee are Mr. Nguyen Minh Lam and Mr. Pham Tan Hoa; one missing position of Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee will be additionally elected later. In addition, the People's Council also elects Heads and Deputy Heads of Committees of the People's Council; elected 19 members of the Provincial People's Committee and 42 jurors of the Provincial People's Court, term 2021 - 2026.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Xth Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc congratulated and wished that the newly elected leaders of the province would continue to promote unity and agreement, uphold the sense of responsibility; closely with the locality and grassroots, listen to the opinions of all classes of people; flexible, responsive, creative, strictly keeping the regulations and principles in directing and operating, fulfilling the assigned responsibilities and tasks, worthy of the trust of the delegates of the People's Council and the people of the province.

Speaking at the closing session, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc emphasized that the Xth Provincial People's Council entered a new term when the Party Committee, government and people of the whole province focused on implementing the Resolution of the XIIIth Party Congress, the Resolution of the XIth Provincial Party Congress; especially in the face of the complicated situation of the Covid-19 pandemic; The requirements and tasks set out are very heavy.

To fulfill the "dual goals" under the direction of the Government, especially to achieve the goal of "by 2025, maintain the leading position in the Mekong River Delta and strive to become a developed province by 2030. development in the Southern Key Economic Zone according to the Resolution of the XIth National Party Congress of the province, requiring the whole political system and people in the province to unite, agree, have high determination, make great efforts, have strong measures and decisive actions.

Each member of the People's Council must comply with his/her action plan and promise to voters when campaigning for the election.

On this occasion, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council – Nguyen Van Duoc called delegates of the Provincial People's Council to actively contribute to the province's Covid-19 vaccine fund; also propagandize and mobilize relatives, voters and the community to contribute to the vaccine fund and strictly observe regulations on prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic.

The meeting conducted to elect the titles of Heads and Deputy Heads of Committees of the Xth Provincial People's Council, including:

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Vung holds the position of Head of Legal Department;

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Phuc holds the position of Head of Economic - Budget Department;

Mr. Truong Van Nam holds the position of Head of Culture - Society Department;
