In the fields, the commune authorities also built hazardous waste collection places to store pesticide packaging after use. 3. Waste separation at source is one of the environmental protection activities piloted in Ward 3, Tan An City. Through surveying people's opinions, this model helps them to raise awareness and know how to classify domestic waste at source, contributing to environmental protection living in the area. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang (Binh Dong 2 Quarter, Ward 3, Tan An City) said: "We divide waste into organic and inorganic categories, put it in bags or trash to contribute to protecting the environment and the life of the community."

According to Vice Chairman of Tan An City People's Committee - Vo Hong Thao, the City People's Committee actively coordinated with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and the WWF-Vietnam organization to effectively deploy this model to replicate throughout the area in the near future. When implementing the model, people participate very actively, know how to separate waste at source to create favorable conditions for treatment and reduce the amount of waste. Waste treatment costs also reduce and achieve economic efficiency. The volume of garbage collected in Ward 3 is about 400,000 tons/month, the organic waste classification is over 90 tons/month (classification result is over 85 percent). In the coming time, Tan An City will guide the residential community in sorting waste at source and collecting recyclable plastic waste./.
