Economic growth rate (GRDP) in many provinces in the group had positive results; 9 out of 12 provinces (Bac Lieu, Hau Giang, Soc Trang, Long An, Dong Thap, An Giang, Ca Mau, Kien Giang, Ben Tre) had positive economic growth. Total budget revenue of the group was 298,478 billion VND, reaching 99.84 percent of the plan. Total social investment capital reached 93.95 percent of the plan. Total export turnover was 17,899 million USD, reaching 94.11 percent of the plan.

The socio-cultural field has seen many remarkable changes, people's lives have been improved and gradually improved both in material and spiritual terms.

Vice State President - Vo Thi Anh Xuan praised and highly appreciated the efforts of the political system and people in the region, especially the frontline forces. Each locality has good methods, practical and effective models, creating an emulation movement for people to overcome difficulties and challenges and complete tasks.

The Party, Government and National Assembly are increasingly interested in and have many major policies for the Mekong Delta such as continuing to implement Resolution 120 on sustainable development of the Mekong Delta in order to adapt to climate change; drastic direction to invest in infrastructure to develop other fields for the region, etc. She hoped that localities would continue to overcome difficulties and seize opportunities to perform well political tasks in the future.
