According to the evaluation of the Provincial Party Committee, in the first 6 months, the socio-economic situation in the province took place in the context of the negative impact of Covid-19 disease; some enterprises, production and business establishments are forced to narrow their production, reduce labor, operate in moderation or suspend production. Besides, unfavorable weather, drought, saline intrusion occur early, deeply, they directly affect productivity, yield and crops. African swine fever has not been completely controlled.

Facing this situation, the Party Committee, authorities and people in the province have made efforts and struggle to accomplish the dual goal of preventing and fighting against epidemics to ensure people's health; both prevent and combat economic decline and maintain social stability. Up to now, Long An province has not recorded cases of Covid-19. In the first 6 months, the province's economic growth rate was 1.12 percent. In particular, Region I increased by 2.75 percent, Region II increased by 4.72 percent and Region III decreased by 5.04 percent. The total state budget revenue in the province reached 7,930 billion VND, reached over 46.9 percent of the estimate assigned by the provincial People's Council, and well performed the preparation and organization of the Party Congress at all levels for the term 2020-2025.

However, the Provincial Party Committee also frankly recognized the shortcomings and limitations in implementing the Resolution. In particular, it is noteworthy that the disease situation on crops and livestock is still complicated; the effects of Covid-19 epidemic led to major production groups such as industrial production, trade, services, tourism, import and export turnover decreased over the same period, etc.

For the personnel project in the period 2011-2020, it strictly ensures the implementation, achieves the set goals and requirements. Thereby it contributes positively to building the contingent of cadres of the province in the direction of standardization and meeting requirements and tasks in the new situation. Basically, it has overcome the situation of shortage and redundancy of cadres, creating an excited spirit, encouraging cadres and civil servants to feel secure in working, well fulfilling the tasks in the localities and units.

At the conference, delegates also focused on contributing to the achieved results as well as further clarifying the limitations and solutions in the last 6 months to successfully implement the Provincial Party Committee Resolution 2020.

Speaking at the conference, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Pham Van Ranh acknowledged and praised the efforts of all sectors and localities in accomplishing the dual goal of effective disease prevention and control as well as prevention, combat economic recession, restoring production and business in the new situation and maintain social stability.

At the same time, he suggested that the Party Committees and authorities strengthen leadership, direct the implementation of provincial planning in the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, formulate a public investment plan in 2021, and a plan to develop socio-economic development in the period 2021-2025 and the medium-term public investment plan in the 2021-2025 period are effective, quality, and within the prescribed time limit.

The committees and authorities need to continue monitoring and directing the agricultural production situation, proactively coping with natural disasters and diseases on plants and animals, promoting the implementation of the hi-tech agricultural development program associated with agricultural restructuring. In particular, it is necessary to focus on promoting industrial and construction development as a driving force for socio-economic recovery and development.

In addition, the Party committees and local authorities should direct drastically, speeding up the work of compensation, site clearance, resettlement, striving to put some industrial parks and clusters into operation. to seize opportunities, catch new investment wave. Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Pham Van Ranh also requested sectors and localities to promote the promotion, development of commerce, services, tourism, expanding the market, especially the potential domestic market and Ho Chi Minh City market as well as other solutions to successfully implement the Provincial Party Committee Resolution 2020.

On this occasion, the Standing Committee of Long An Party Committee awarded certificates of merit to 3 Party Committees successfully completing the tasks in 2019, including Tan An City Party Committee, Kien Tuong Town Party Committee and Provincial Military Party Committee./.
