Long An - Tien Giang signed agreement on development cooperation

At the meeting

The Mekong Delta provinces of Long An and Tien Giang agree on long-term and comprehensive cooperation in the fields of agriculture, industry, trade, transport, urban development, natural resources and environment, travel, science and technology, and security.

In the field of transport, the two sides strengthen road traffic connection through the cooperation in developing transport infrastructure in a synchronous manner to meet the requirements of traveling and transporting goods, contributing to the socio-economic development between the two provinces. 

The two sides continue to propose and implement urban transport infrastructure connecting Ho Chi Minh City - Long An - Tien Giang and National Highway 50 (from Long An to Ho Chi Minh City); to invest in Can Duoc - Cho Gao road; Provincial roads 827A, 827B, 827D, 827C, 829, 836B, 834B, Chau Thi Kim road (Long An) with Provincial road 872, 879D, 879B, 879C, 868, 867, 866, 879 (Tien Giang). In addition, new bus routes will be opened, especially Tan An – My Tho. Besides, Long An coordinate Tien Giang to manage buses to carry and pick up workers.

In the agricultural sector, the two provinces agree on the rice crop calendar as well as cooperate in irrigation system operation.

With the spirit of long-term cooperation, Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee - Tran Van Can and Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee - Le Van Huong signed the agreement on socio-economic development cooperation for the period of 2019-2020 and orientation to 2025./.
