Social policy credit is increasingly effective

After 10 years of implementing Directive 40, the awareness and actions of Party committees, authorities and socio-political organizations regarding social policy credit have changed positively. Total resources mobilized to implement social policy credit in the province reached nearly 5,900 billion VND, an increase of 3,750 billion VND (174%) compared to before implementing Directive 40. The average annual growth rate reached 17.4%. Of which, locally entrusted capital to lend to poor households and other policy beneficiaries is 560 billion VND, 112 times higher than before implementing Directive 40.

Credit scale and quality are increasingly consolidated, expanded and improved. The sector disbursed nearly 11,400 billion VND to 377,000 poor households and policy beneficiaries.

Informing the working delegation, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Mai Van Nhieu said that the Party Committee and authorities from the province to the grassroots have focused on leading and directing the effective implementation of social policy credit, thereby creating high consensus and unity among the people, attracting more and more resources for policy credit; contributing to economic development, job creation, sustainable poverty reduction, and building new rural areas.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Pham Tan Hoa said that Directive 40 of the Secretariat on "Strengthening the Party's leadership over social policy credit" has really come to life and been making an important contribution to fundamentally changing the appearance of social policy credit in the province in recent times. In the coming time, the Provincial People's Committee will continue to focus on leading and directing the good implementation of social policy credit in the spirit of Directive 40.

The Provincial People's Committee also proposed that the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies continue to pay attention and prioritize the allocation of additional capital sources for policy credit programs, especially the job creation support program to satisfy the capital needs of social policy beneficiaries, rural workers, and unemployed workers.

At the same time, the Provincial People's Committee also recommends that the bank research and propose to the government to add additional households in border areas and households with average living standards to benefit from a number of loan programs for production and business, construction and home repair.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission - Nguyen Hong Son highly appreciated the results of Long An province in implementing the social policy credit program, raising awareness of people, all levels and sectors about the meaning and purpose of social policy credit.

The effective implementation has also affirmed and clearly demonstrated the important role, correct and humane policies of the Party and State in taking care of and supporting disadvantaged people to rise up, develop the economy, and reduce poverty sustainably.

In the coming time, he proposed that the province clearly determine the focus and emphasis of social policy credit in the context of socio-economic development, strengthen leadership, direction, inspection and supervision of the implementation of social policy credit.
