Long An continues to drastically prevent and control Covid-19

Chairman of Long An People's Committee - Tran Van Can proposed that all levels, sectors, localities and each citizen should seriously implement measures to prevent and control Covid-19 pandemic

Implementing the Official Letter No.1665/CĐ-UBND of the Provincial People's Committee, the public vehicles are temporarily stopped operating, the buses carrying workers ensure the number of passengers as prescribed. The province has 30 traffic check-points, 4 interdisciplinary check-points to perform well the task of disease control. Heads of agencies and units shall arrange cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers to work at home and at offices but ensure the fulfillment of assigned tasks. All religious and belief establishments have well observed the regulations on banning the gathering in crowds.

Together with promoting communication, the province strengthened the inspection, strictly handled cases of deliberately violating regulations on epidemic prevention. Accordingly, the province fined over 1,260 cases of administrative violations and fines with the amount of over 800 million VND; at the same time, mobilizing not to gather in crowds over 6,900 cases.

The health sector has implemented drastically measures to prevent and control epidemics such as making medical declarations; streaming, checking healthcare; fully equipped with equipment, drugs, chemicals, medical supplies, protective equipment for medical workers and forces engaged in epidemic prevention and control. In addition, difficult people are also paid attention due to the direct impact of Covid-19 epidemic.

At the conference, participants discussed some advantages, difficulties and solutions to deploy the disease prevention and control in the coming time.

Making medical declaration to prevent and early detect suspected cases

A plan on voluntary blood donation to join hands to prevent and combat Covid-19 was also implemented at the conference. In 2019, the province received 5,580 blood units. Before the complicated situation of the Covid-19 epidemic, blood supply was affected and encountered many difficulties. Therefore, all levels, sectors and localities need to promote propaganda and advocacy to raise awareness and responsibility of the community on the meaning of voluntary blood donation, contributing to timely emergency of patients. 

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Tran Van Can said that the province had not recorded any cases of Covid-19 up to now. This remarkable result was achieved thanks to the efforts of the political system and the entire population. Although experts of the National Steering Committee classified Long An as a low-risk province, the locality borders Cambodia, Tay Ninh and Ho Chi Minh City (as high-risk groups), Dong Thap (as a risk group). Therefore, all levels, sectors, localities and each citizen should seriously and strictly implement measures to prevent and control diseases in the spirit of "fighting against epidemics like fighting against the enemy", and must not be subjective or neglect.

It needs to continue implementing well the medical isolation at home, business and concentrated isolation as prescribed; paying attention to social security packages to support the right people. At the same time, maintaining the operation of the check-points and stations to strictly control border and inland routes; resolutely handling acts of illegal entry, smuggling of goods and cases of non-observance of regulations on disease prevention and fight.

The Provincial Border Guard Command regularly captures information on the situation of the disease in the neighbouring country of Cambodia in order to have a mechanism to coordinate the prevention and control of epidemics. Department of Education and Training implements online teaching method according to the motto "do not go to school but do not stop learning". At the same time, it is ready to deploy hygiene, disinfect and sterilize schools to receive students for class. The Department of Transport has strengthened inspection at mobile check-points to restrict vehicles as prescribed.

Department of Industry and Trade guarantees necessary necessities. The media agencies promote communication, guide people to implement social isolation, measures to protect themselves and their families, provide portraits, and handle violations./.
