Long An signs aid contracts for 2 projects from Japanese Government

On November 18, the signing ceremony of non-refundable aid contracts from Japanese Government's grassroots program for 2 projects with a total value of 163,548 USD took place at People's Committee of Long An.

Mr. WATANABE Nobuhiro – Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City signed an aid contract with Director of Tan Thanh District Medical Center - Luu Quoc Lon

The 2 projects are "Project to equip ambulances for Medical Center of Tan Thanh District, Long An Province" and "Project to equip X-ray machines and upgrade lead room for Tan Thanh District Medical Center (Second Campus), Long An province” with a total value of 163,548 USD to improve the emergency system, safely transport patients, make X-ray examination, diagnosis quickly, accurately, and improve quality of health services in the region.

These projects are within the framework of the grassroots non-refundable aid program of Japanese Government. This is the continuation of 12 other projects that Long An province has received from Japanese Government (through the Consulate General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City) over the past 10 years. These projects are from many fields such as health, education, clean water, rural transport, etc and implemented in difficult areas of the province.

At the ceremony, Mr. WATANABE Nobuhiro - Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City signed aid contracts with  Director of Tan Thanh District Medical Center - Luu Quoc Lon and Director of Tan Thanh District Medical Center (Second Campus) - Ngo Duc Hanh.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut said that the government and people of Long An province are committed to effectively using this aid from the Japanese Government, contributing to the development of people's livelihood in Tan Thanh's rural areas. The Provincial People's Committee will assign People's Committee of Tan Thanh District, Department of Planning and Investment, Department of Foreign Affairs and 2 Medical Centers to receive aid and coordinate with the Consulate General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City to implement the project effectively.

In 2023, towards the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations establishment between Vietnam and Japan, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee asked the authorities of Long An province and the Consulate General of Japan; domestic and abroad Japanese partners to work closely to strengthen cooperative relations between the two sides in various fields. This will be an important milestone, with special significance in the relationship between the two countries in general, between Long An province and Japanese partners in particular./.
