Ministry of Information and Communications trains Vietnam-Cambodia external information

On October 23, in An Giang province, the Ministry of Information and Communications organized a training course on Vietnam's foreign policy with Cambodia.

Representatives of Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Public Security, leaders of Department of Information and Communications, Police, Military, Border Guard and leaders of the districts that border Cambodia; reporters, editors of news agencies of the Southern provinces attended the training course.

According to the Ministry of Information and Communications, Vietnam and Cambodia have a close relationship. The friendly and cooperative relationship between the two countries has always been maintained and achieved many achievements in all fields. This is the foundation for the two countries to continue promoting in this period and in the future.

Since 2006, the two sides have coordinated to deploy and complete the demarcation of about 1,045 kilometers of borderline, built 2,047 landmarks at 1,553 locations, accounting for about 84% of the land border demarcation between the two countries.

In particular, at the beginning of October 2019, representatives of the two countries signed important legal documents to affirm the common goal of building the border of peace, stability, friendship, cooperation and sustainable development.

In addition, in 2019, the two countries organized high-level visits of leaders of the two countries and held many important external events such as the 10th Vietnam - Cambodia Conference on Cooperation and Development of Border Provinces, the 40th anniversary of the victory of the Southwestern border protection war and the joint victory of the Vietnamese and Cambodian people over the genocidal regime.

The Prime Minister has approved the Project "Strengthening external information with Cambodia until 2020". Accordingly, Cambodia is one of the key areas of external information, this task should be implemented methodically, scientifically and persistently.

The delegates were also informed about some issues related to other external information activities in the current situation and human rights issues in the current international context.

The Ministry of Information and Communications hoped that the delegates could continue to propagate policies and laws to the people in order to strengthen the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia./.
