Make good use of the opportunity
Currently, Vietnam participates in many global value chains and signs free trade agreements (FTAs), opening up many export growth opportunities for businesses. Trans-Pacific Trade Partnership Agreement (CPTPP), Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and European Union (EVFTA), Vietnam - United Kingdom Free Trade Agreement (UKVFTA), etc facilitate the mechanism, enhance cooperation, support and common development for businesses.
Taking advantage of this "playground" will help businesses expand export activities and find more markets to orient appropriate and effective business strategies. At the same time, businesses can also create products with good quality, competitive prices, fully meeting the standards and consumer needs of the markets, increasing development opportunities as well as reputation.
Exports in the first months of 2024 show signs of recovery, businesses have more export orders (In photo: Workers of Van Phuc Cosmetics Company (Tan Tru district) producing to promptly deliver to foreign partners)
Established in 2005, moved to Tan Binh commune, Tan Tru district since 2015, Van Phuc Cosmetics Company has gradually affirmed its brand and position in the market. Throughout the production process, the company's product lines with perfume and cosmetic brands: Cialy, Choilic, Glorin, INZ, etc gradually gain trust, fully meeting domestic and foreign market standards, especially foreign markets.
Director of Van Phuc Cosmetics Company - Nguyen Thanh Hung said: "As an enterprise participating in export, understanding market needs and standards is of top concern. Besides, the Company always prepares a source of quality goods to meet the needs. Vietnam participates in global value chains and FTAs, creating opportunities for businesses to easily participate and access export markets, thereby promoting production and business development. In the first months of 2024, exports continue to show signs of improvement as foreign markets have more demand for the company's products and we signed more cooperation contracts. Currently, about 80% of the company's products are exported, the main markets are countries in Southeast Asia, India, etc. The company has about 100 employees. To improve production and business efficiency, we boldly invested in a laboratory with full equipment to monitor product quality according to standards: CBMP-HCM, GMP-ASEAN, etc at the same factory in Tan Tru district, with a closed technological production line system to produce high quality, health-safe products before reaching consumers. The company always aims for sustainable development, constantly improving the quality of human resources, building specific strategies, broad vision, sensitivity and above all are quality and price to affirm our pioneering position in the cosmetics manufacturing industry."
Currently, about 80% of Van Phuc Cosmetics' products are exported to countries in Southeast Asia and India.
According to a representative of Nafoods Group Joint Stock Company (Duc Hoa district), making good use of global value chains and FTAs helps businesses better access the market and boost the export of goods, creating brand and value for product lines. The company has exported products to more than 50 countries around the world, especially the most demanding markets such as Europe, the United States, Japan, etc. It can be said that in the first months of 2024, signs of recovery from foreign markets has contributed to creating favorable conditions for units involved in supplying export goods. When sales increase, profits are also guaranteed, businesses can predict and be more proactive in production and business problems. However, export markets create playgrounds and opportunities but also pose many big challenges, requiring businesses' products to fully meet regulations and standards to be able to stand firm. Enterprises must focus on improving reputation and product quality, constantly innovating production processes to ensure they fully meet the standards set by markets, and proactively learn about market structure and linkages, building raw material areas and aiming for sustainable development strategies, etc.
In April 2024, the province's export and import turnover is estimated to reach about 1,145 million USD, of which exports are estimated at 720 million USD, an increase of 23.92%; Imports are estimated at 425 million USD, an increase of 30.37%. Global value chains and FTAs that Vietnam participates in bring opportunities for export growth for Vietnamese enterprises in general and export and import enterprises of Long An province in particular. In the first months of 2024, although export and import activities still meet great difficulties and challenges, export and import turnover in the province achieved positive results.
It is forecasted that export and import activities of Vietnam and the province in the remaining months of the year will have many advantages and challenges. The Department of Industry and Trade develops and implements a plan to promote production and consumption and promote exports; prepares to well organize the Conference on Connecting the supply chain of export goods in Long An province in 2024. The department closely monitors market developments, regularly provides market information, prices, regulations, and changes in import policies of countries, etc to help businesses and establishments take advantage of opportunities, improve competitiveness, boost exports, and enter new markets.
