Focus on low-achieving targets

In the first months of 2024, Party Committees at all levels have focused on leading and directing agencies, units and localities to urgently implement the resolution of the Provincial Party Executive Committee with 18 targets. Specifically, the Gross Regional Domestic Product(GRDP) of 8.0-8.5% is of interest.

The solution for localities is to closely coordinate with functional agencies to focus on improving the province's unmet targets as well as the difficulties and limitations identified and pointed out by the Provincial Party Committee in 2023 such as: the speed of economic growth has not been achieved; the consumption and export situation of agricultural products is still in difficult; investment attraction, compensation, support, resettlement and site clearance have not met the set requirements;

According to Tan Thanh District Party Committee, in 2024, the district strives to maintain and improve the quality of new rural areas criteria of 12/12 communes; maintain and improve the quality of advanced rural areas criteria of 4 communes; build Nhon Hoa Lap commune to be recognized as meeting advanced rural standards, Tan Thanh town as meeting civilized urban standards, completing the task of building a new rural district.

In the district, there are currently 5 projects being deployed and implemented. That is the infrastructure of Hiep Thanh Canal Residential Area; Road No. 3 and the land fund of road No. 3 (extending from Tan Thanh town to National Highway N2, Tan Binh commune - key project of the 10th District Party Committee Resolution); upgrading and expanding dikes along Bui Moi canal; renovating and upgradibng the Eastern Phung Thoi shoreline; the square in front of the District Party Committee headquarters. These projects are currently facing difficulties and problems with site clearance; capital sources do not meet requirements; scarced land resources; etc.

Leaders of Tan Thanh district had a meeting with relevant units as well as local leaders to remove difficulties, contribute to the project being implemented according to schedule, complete the Resolution of the 10th District Party Committee of the district and welcome the Party Congress of 11th District Party Committee, term 2025-2030.

With high political determination, the Party Committee, government and people of Ben Luc district are striving to implement the District Party Committee's resolution to achieve important and comprehensive results in many fields. This is an important premise for the district to successfully implement the District Party Committee's resolution targets in 2024. Secretary of Ben Luc District Party Committee - Nguyen Dang Minh Xuan informed that 2024 plays a decisive role in accelerating the successful completion of the 12th Resolution of the District Party Committee, term 2020-2025. With the viewpoint of taking people and businesses as the center, considering businesses as the driving force and resources for the development process, the district synchronously implements solutions to awaken the strength of the entire population, exploit maximize potential and advantages, promote industrial, construction and urban development; continue to well direct the compensation and site clearance work, especially key projects, breakthrough programs, industrial zone and cluster projects, urban residential projects; etc.

“With new spirit, new determination, the Party Committee, government and people in the district are confident to successfully carry out the tasks set out in 2024 and the entire term, making breakthrough for an increasingly civilized, modern and developed dítrict" - Mr. Nguyen Dang Minh Xuan affirmed.

Breakthrough in task performance

In 2023, Can Giuoc district's budget revenue was 704 billion VND, reaching more than 110.7% of the ordinance estimate, more than 109.3% of the estimate assigned by the district People's Council. However, the district's balance revenue did not meet the set target, only more than 425.4 billion VND, reaching nearly 89.4%. In 2024, the estimated provincial ordinance assigned to Can Giuoc district is 667 billion VND; The District People's Council assigned is more than 682 billion VND, of which the balance revenueis about 490 billion VND.

According to Chairman of Can Giuoc District People's Committee - Nguyen Anh Duc, the district organized meetings with relevant units to listen to reports on budget collection and focus on discussing solutions to implement, drastically from the beginning of the year, striving to achieve and exceed budget revenues assigned by the province and district People's Council.

In addition, Can Giuoc district focuses on removing difficulties and obstacles of large projects in the area. The district is carrying out procedures to consolidate the dossier to request recognition of meeting new rural standards; launching emulation movements to celebrate the 160th anniversary of the district's founding (November 9, 1864 - November 9, 2024).

With the spirit of starting right from the beginning of the year, provincial leaders organized working delegations to work with key industrial districts of the province on the socio-economic situation to drastically implement the Provincial Party Committee's Resolution in 2024 and complete the 11th Provincial Party Committee Resolution, term 2020-2025.

According to Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc, the Provincial Party Committee determined that 2024 is the year of early completion of the resolution of 11th Long An Provincial Party Congress. Therefore, the task is very heavy. At the same time, it opens up many opportunities and breakthroughs in the new situation: Continuing the tradition of courageous, resilient in the resistance war; taking the lead in the reform process, which is now a bright spot in recovery and economic development; creating a premise to achieve the goal: "Maintain the leading position in the Mekong Delta by 2025 and strive to become a well-developed province in the Southern Key Economic Region by 2030".
