In the first four months of 2023, the functional forces of the province detected and handled 1,090 cases of violations related to the transportation and trading of banned, smuggled goods, commercial fraud, counterfeit, and seized many exhibits of violations, budgeting 70.3 billion VND, prosecuted 31 cases, 35 subjects, etc. However, the prevention of smuggling, commercial fraud, counterfeit goods still face some difficulties. The province's border line with flat terrain, many trails and shortcuts across the border makes it difficult to control. People grazing buffaloes and cows on the border also pose many risks to those who carry out illegal activities.

People's lives in the border area are still facing many difficulties, mainly living by farming, do not have stable jobs and incomes, so they are often lured, enticed or hired by smugglers to bring goods cross-border.
