Accelerate key transport and regional linking projects

The transport sector continues to be assigned as the investor to implement key traffic projects under the breakthrough program of the Resolution of the Long An Provincial Party Congress, term 2020-2025. Up to now, works and projects have basically ensured progress as required.

Invest in Provincial Road 822B to create a traffic axis connecting the region

Duc Hue and Duc Hoa districts are located in the key economic region of the province, have a strategic location, are the gateway connecting to Ho Chi Minh City, the Southeast with the Mekong Delta region. Recently, the province has devoted resources to invest and develop the transportation infrastructure system such as provincial roads 830, 818, upgrading provincial roads 825, 824, etc. Besides, during this term, the transport sector also identified the provincial road 822B as an important traffic project to focus investment.

According to the Department of Transport, provincial road 822B, the section from provincial roads 822 connecting provincial roads 838 to Ho Chi Minh Road, has an important position in economic development planning, especially in the development of industry, commerce, services, urban residential areas and agricultural areas, in which industrial development is the foundation for developing the province's key economic region. When completed, this route will contribute to the economic development, security and defense of the province in particular and the Southeast region in general.

At the same time, provincial road 822B also plays an important role in the development of urban infrastructure, traffic connection, socio-economic development, creating a traffic axis connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Long An, Dong Thap, An Giang, Tay Ninh, Binh Duong and opens up the potential for trade development with Cambodia's Sam Reong Border Gate, Svay Rieng province.

In addition, this route also contributes to gradually improving the province's traffic infrastructure system, especially in Duc Hoa and Duc Hue districts according to the province's traffic planning with a vision to 2030, reducing traffic pressure on the existing provincial road 822 line. It is also expected to create a vacant land fund for urban renovation and expansion, speed up industrial development, and attract investment capital for socio-economic development of the province.

Project provincial road 822B has a total length of 11.4km, the first point intersects with provincial road 825 (Duc Hoa district), about 480m from Tan My intersection towards Loc Giang commune. This point is expected to connect with the Duc Hoa Dynamic Axis. The project's end point intersects with provincial road 838 at Ong Duong intersection, My Thanh Bac commune, Duc Hue district.

Total project investment is more than 918 billion VND, including 477 billion VND in construction, more than 300 billion VND in site clearance and other costs. In phase 1, provincial road 822B is invested with a level IV road scale, 9m foundation, 7m wide road surface, and site clearance of 30m.

When completed, Provincial Road 822B together with Provincial Road 825 will form an important transport axis connecting the province with Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces as well as opening up the potential for trade development with Cambodia.

Regarding site clearance, Duc Hue District People's Committee approved a compensation plan for 88 households and 4 organizations and paid 82/88 households and 4 organizations an amount of about 45 billion VND. Duc Hoa district is currently paying 187/199 households and 3 organizations with an amount of 180 billion VND; For the remaining 12 households, the district continues to mobilize resource. It is expected that by November 2024, compensation and site clearance work will be completed. Up to now, at the Vam Co Dong bridge construction package constructed by Hop Thanh - North Central South Joint Venture, the construction unit has completed the installation of a concrete mixing plant, overhanging abutments on the M2 abutment side, and bored piles from T7. to T12 and is constructing bored piles for M2 abutment, T9 pier pier, estimated implementation value at 15%. Particularly for bidding packages from provincial road 825 to Ho Chi Minh Road; section from Ho Chi Minh Highway to Vam Co Dong bridge; section from Vam Co Dong bridge to provincial road 838 and bridges on Canal 1 and Canal 2, the Department of Transport is currently completing procedures to organize contractor selection.

Speed ​​up key projects

Up to now, the Transport sector and localities are focusing on speeding up the construction progress of Provincial Road 830E.

Focus on accelerating the progress of compensation and construction of Provincial Road 830E

Regarding provincial road 830E, this route plays a very important role in developing urban infrastructure, connecting traffic, developing socio-economic development, connecting neighboring districts as well as neighboring provinces, especially Ho Chi Minh City. Provincial road830E will create an additional traffic axis connecting important industrial parks in key districts such as Ben Luc, Can Duoc, Can Giuoc to Hiep Phuoc port, Ho Chi Minh City as well as Long An International Port.

At the same time, provincial road 830E will relieve traffic congestion in the inner area of ​​Ben Luc town, gradually completing the province's traffic planning. The project has a total investment of 3,707 billion VND including construction investment and site clearance. The scale of phase 1 is to invest in 2 parallel roads along the route, each parallel road includes 2 mixed lanes 7m wide, 1 rudimentary lane 2.5m wide and river crossing bridges on the parallel road on both sides. The road connecting to DT830 has a complete scale of 6 lanes, 20m wide, 30m wide roadbed.

When completed, it will be an 8-lane highway with 2 emergency stop lanes; the parallel road section has 4 mixed lanes (2 lanes in each direction). This project is expected to create an important traffic connection from local roads with National Highway 1, Ring Road 3, Ring Road 4 of Ho Chi Minh City.

Provincial Road 830E project is being accelerated by construction units

After more than 1 year of construction, the progress of provincial road 830E has had many positive changes. In bidding packages, construction units are focusing on human and material resources to speed up construction progress. In particular, the section from intersection of provincial road 830 and Nguyen Van Nham street, the left route implemented by the Nui Hong - Tan Nam - 622 Joint Venture has basically completed the bridge deck from abutment M1 to pier T2, completed all bored piles, pier cap beams T3, T4, T8, pier body T7, T9, T10, abutment base M2 and are constructing pier cap beams T7 for An Thanh bridge with a progress of more than 32% .

The right route was constructed by the Joint Venture Bridge 14 - DV and TM 68 - Thang Loi, with progress reaching more than 26%. For the section from Nguyen Van Nham Street to Highway 1, the left route is implemented by the IDICO - An Hoa Joint Venture. The construction units also deployed many construction steps of soil cement piles and reinforced K95 sand embankment, vertical drainage system, implementation value reached nearly 18%. Particularly, the right side route is constructed by Le Hung - BMT Joint Venture, with progress reached more than 27%.

According to Director of the Department of Transport - Dang Hoang Tuan, in order for the project to be completed as planned, the department requires construction units to focus on speeding up the construction of bidding packages to ensure on schedule and quality to serve socio-economic development.

In addition, for problems related to site clearance, the department requested the People's Committee of Ben Luc district to strengthen advocacy work, convincing people to hand over land for construction units, coordinate well with the department to remove difficulties and obstacles during project implementation./.
